Just read the sad news of the capture by pirates of the sailing yacht Lynn Rival with Rachel and Paul Chandler aboard. Lynn Rival was sailing from the Seychelles apparently bound for East Africa.

While the news of any vessel attacked by pirates saddens us, this news felt like it hit especially close to home. The winter of 2007/ 2008 Lynn Rival sailed down the Red Sea to India with the Vasco de Gamma Rally. They were the blog that we followed that year and we came to appreciate their composed and considerate attitudes to new cultures and their good seamanship.

We send Rachel and Paul our prayers for a quick rescue and a safe return home.
