The specification

Here is the specification diagram.
We have, of course, changed the flag and the crew but other than that we are the original sails and colour scheme.
The sails, thankfully, are in great condition. We couldn't say that of the paintwork. So, we hauled Yolo out in Carrriacou Marina in June and painted her top side and all the way down to the tip of her keep.
Pictures of the process are in the gallery.
Yolo
18 October 2015
Yolo, a Freedom 32 cat rigged sloop, was manufactured in 1986 which was a good era for over engineering.
Yolo was loved and cared for by her previous owners, Luuck and Darcy, bur anyone who knows us knows that we always renovate and improve our home.
So, we have begun, and are continuing, a process of renovations and improvements to Yolo. This, I am sure, will be a process that will be ongoing. Yolo is such a well made boat that she is a pleasure to live on, sail on, and renovate on.

The adventure is well underway!

Jane, on a beautiful sundrenched day in Grenada
After a full year living aboard Yolo, finally, our blog is underway.
Our great adventure began one year ago this week, 13th October, 2014, when we landed in Grenada, stepped off the plane and excitedly boarded Yolo as our new floating home.
Back then Yolo was docked in Prickly Bay Marina where she'd been lovingly left for us by Luuck, Darcy and Stormer Soeters when they disembarked and boarded their new sailing yacht to begin their next chapter in their adventure.
On that first evening, we struggled aboard our new home with a copious amount of luggage and didn't even know how to turn the lighting on. So, we made the V berth bed up, with bedding carefully and thoughtfully packed in the top of one of the travel bags, an adventure in itself, then went in search of pizza and beer before retiring to bed for our first nights rest in our new floating home.
We woke the next morning in paradise. Most mornings since that day one or both of us will pause and say, 'Have you seen where we live?' Yes, we still live in paradise; beautiful tropical views in every direction! We couldn't want for anything else.
