"Everybody off the dock." states David our dockmaster here at St. James Club in Mamora Bay, "A major swell is comin' through and it's a big one."

The waves are breaking over the entrance and surfing into the bay would be a wild ride. After lucking out with the northerly winds for our overnight ride on the Sombero Passage, from Virgin Gorda to Antigua, we can't complain about the swell. We departed the Bitter End at 10:30a and arrived in Antigua at 5:30a after 185 miles passed under our hulls and a moon shone above our sails. Having a leg cast hanging off my left foot, we opted to saddle up to the dock in Mamora Bay, making it easy for me to get on and off the boat and allowing our visiting family members on land to access Zen. However after just one day, the weather off the East Coast of the US stirred up a low pressure and built waves that have set a 40 year record here in the islands. The monohulls in our anchorage are certainly rocking, but not gunnel to gunnel. This is such a wonderfully protected cove. And Zen, well, she's barely swaying, just enough to lull us into "vacation mode".

As we sit here listening to The Black Keys blasting on our stereo (thanks, LJ!), watch the rolling puffy clouds overhead and get ready to dingy ashore to cheer on the kids in the resort's Aqua-Olympics, we are ever grateful. And YES, we would love to have you here with us enjoying this perfect ocean moment.
