What Survives!

The Twisted Trees are lone survivors out here. Do they ever rot, someday maybe. They are fascinating the way they get twisted up from the wind.

The Seclusion

We found some!!! Seclusion that is. So far my experience in the Canyonlands has been different than I expected. The vastness, the beauty, that's all been inline with what I thought but I was expecting to be off more in the wilderness, away from the people. Even though the park is pretty unknown in the [...]

The Confluence

The Hoodoos

Mean while back on land

Mary
Back on land things were busy as well. Since the meeting of the minds back at Jakes restaurant when we came up with this great plan we have managed to get married, blend a family of 5 kids, try to guide those 5 children into their own career paths and apartments, do a 3 month job assignment of Dougs in Germany, keep Mary employed with flexible jobs, figure out how to manage a boat and stay married, do all kinds of fun things with family and friends, do every house project screaming to be done, sort through every material possession life has brought us and put our house up for sale. As I write this we are in England and Denmark for Dougs job waiting for our house to sell. Here is a picture of the famous St. in Copenhagen. We now have a time frame for leaving though and are hopeful things fall into place in the months to come. The plan at this point is to leave Bayfield mid June for Chicago. Do the Chicago Mac race again and then head for Lake Ontario to visit Dougs family in Brighton. From there its through the Canal and off to the Carribean. Aaaahhhhhhh sailing in the sun!!!!!!!!!
