What Survives!

The Twisted Trees are lone survivors out here. Do they ever rot, someday maybe. They are fascinating the way they get twisted up from the wind.

The Seclusion

We found some!!! Seclusion that is. So far my experience in the Canyonlands has been different than I expected. The vastness, the beauty, that's all been inline with what I thought but I was expecting to be off more in the wilderness, away from the people. Even though the park is pretty unknown in the [...]

The Hoodoos

Roasting Chestnuts In September

10 September 2017 | Vigo, Spain
Mary
Needing to clear our heads after seeing all the hurricane pictures, and trying to get information and correspond with friends affected we decided to take a day hike. Vigo is in the mountains with many nice trails to follow. Along the way we came upon a small treasure, chestnut trees dropping their pods along the path. Most of the pods open up as they fall revealing the beautiful chestnut inside. We couldn't help gathering them, lots of them. We became a little obsessed as the they were to pretty to leave laying there. Finally with a full back pack we had to stop and make our way home. It was a long days walk but helped immensely. We immediately googled how to roast our nuts even though it's not Christmas!
