What Survives!

The Twisted Trees are lone survivors out here. Do they ever rot, someday maybe. They are fascinating the way they get twisted up from the wind.

The Seclusion

We found some!!! Seclusion that is. So far my experience in the Canyonlands has been different than I expected. The vastness, the beauty, that's all been inline with what I thought but I was expecting to be off more in the wilderness, away from the people. Even though the park is pretty unknown in the [...]

The Hoodoos

Remember Guy?

18 October 2017 | Cascais, Portugal
Mary
A Day with Guy. Remember the Belgium man at the guest house in Porto well he was the next guest on our boat. He doesn't live far from Cascais so came one day for a sail. He was a sailor himself so we were hoping for bigger winds. Big winds are what we got so we had a nice long sail out to a point which turns out to be the REAL end of the world. The point farthest West in Europe. So how come Finisterre still makes that claim? Portugal is correct, the point is farther out! The rain cut our sail a little short, rain this area has not seen all summer and fall so we couldn't complain. We anchored and had a cozy meal in the salon.
