What Survives!

The Twisted Trees are lone survivors out here. Do they ever rot, someday maybe. They are fascinating the way they get twisted up from the wind.

The Seclusion

We found some!!! Seclusion that is. So far my experience in the Canyonlands has been different than I expected. The vastness, the beauty, that's all been inline with what I thought but I was expecting to be off more in the wilderness, away from the people. Even though the park is pretty unknown in the [...]

Third Try To The Top

Feeling well rested after taking a few days to hang out at home after three intense hiking days, we took off to once again see if we could hike the rain forest loop and get a view from the highest point on the island. First and second attempts proved impossible with the blustery blowing rain and clouds covering the view but today the prediction says sun (still very windy but hey you can't have it all). The predictions were not altogether accurate though so for our last hike we opted for dry and warm. A hike along the coast line qualified do we took that instead. It was nice come back dry, and it was a beautiful hike as well.
