After jumping through all the hoops to get the paper-trail completed it was a relief to finally get going on Saturday. So it was not surprising to find us a little down when due to a problem with one rudder we strategised to detour to Port Owen to see if we could rectify it. This naturally not only cost time but there was the doubt and unknown factors too.

All's well that ends well and tied up in Port Owen Bruce went into the water and was able to easily get the troublesome bush back into place which was now secured with a hose clamp. While I sealed a leak in one of the fuel tanks Bruce was able to get a lift from a radio amateur friend of mine to get two more jerry cans of diesel to make up for what we had lost. Topping the tanks up we cast off and headed to the river to make our way to the sea again. Not too much of a delay and all repaired.

The night conditions brought a strong West to North West wind and swell which had us banging along very uncomfortably with spray flying over the boat, Added to the a heavy fog closed in and on the twelve to three watch I had no visibility and even my spectacles were misting up and could not see the settings on the radar to get it going. FRUSTRATING!!!!!
Sunrise brought us warmer water and much calmer conditions. With the warm water came some fish and two yellow-tail and a long fin tuna were landed on board.

While Bruce and Chris were playing fishermen I had to remove one starter motor and sort out why it would not do it's starting thing. Successfully done we have that engine running again.
