Overview

Your profile is a page attached to your blog that can offer visitors a little information about you and your vessel. Also, some information that is part of your profile is used to help you connect with other members or make it easier for people to find your blog.

Profile information is strictly optional, and you may enter as much or as little as you are comfortable with. We at SailBlogs do not sell or rent any personal information about our members.

Why isn't my profile appearing?

Make sure show profile side column block is turned to on in the Theme Settings. This is found in the Blog Manager -> Theme & Colors tab, and click the theme settings for your selected template.

The profile image can be displayed on the main page of the blog, and a smaller version of the profile image is saved to be used as an icon. The icon is used on the SailBlogs member listing page, the 'local waters' sidebar on the main administration welcome page, and occasionally in other areas of the site. The Profile Image can be any JPG file, and it will automatically be scaled down to no larger than 200x200. The icon is a center square of the image at 40x40.

TO REMOVE A PROFILE IMAGE: If you want to remove the profile image completely, check the "replace image" box and leave the image name field empty. This will remove the image from the profile.

Hailing Port and Boat Make/Model

Additional optional information about your home port and boat.

Current Position

This will appear to members that do not have XPlot mapping enabled. This allows you to show visitors your current position, as well as be included in the SailBlogs google earth feed and on SailBlogs Groups pages. Refer to Latitude & Longitude Format examples of how SailBlogs expects input.

The graphic to the right of the input boxes will show green and 'correct input' when the entered information is recognized as a valid lat or long.

The title that appears over the "Profile Block" on the main blog pages.

Crew Names

Optional crew names. Use last names at your own discretion.

About the Crew

Optional information about the crew.
