Been a busy spring. Never idle.
The rudder has been re conditioned. Four layers of one one fiberglass cloth, resin topped with epoxy 2000 barrier coat did the trick. While not currently wet, The delamination of the outer skin on the rudder was a concern. Preventative maintence.
I'm confident the rudder is good for another five years.
There is a small , slow leak in the compressor line for the the freezer. Will fix the leak then recharge. Hopefully that will work.
The engine is ready when the transmission is in. Belt adjusted, fittings checked and she wants to start when turned over.
Currently we took off the storm shroud, Dirt, leaves (she was parked under a maple, The one with those small helicopter seeds, Yes they were all in there, Dirtry it was.
We cleaned it up and removed the interior skylights , white opaque . The topside is smokie in colour . Throw in a layer of dirt. Not very bright.
The interior glass was leaking. Old sealant, Some seemed to be affected by something which made it soft, Sticky and dirty.
I'll be sealing it with 3m 5200 . Should be good.
The screw holes will be re filled and bored out to hold a screw strongly.
I have said it three times now. Boats. When you get a new boat , you will have touched every nut and bolt within the first two years. Almost there.
Launch time is early May. We've had an early spring, But history says , don't rush. Mother nature still has a few tricks up her sleeves.
