Enroute to SF

We are off the coast of WA, day two of the first passage.
The weather discussion at the docks in Neah Bay culminated with the consensus that there was a window between the two big frontal system that were pounding the coast, so off we went. We gave a quick call to Marcus and Pete and they showed up on Wednesday night, and we left on Thursday morning. Day one had no wind and a big (12-15') swell from the SW, not what we expected at all. We motored for the first 24 hours heading roughly west to get some distance off the coast.
Mid morning today, the Southerly started to fill and we happily shut down the engine and sailed slowly Southwest in under ten knots from due south. It has built to about 15 knots and we are beating easily with the self steering in charge. The water has warmed up about 10 degrees and is a beautiful deep blue. We caught our first Tuna within about 3 minutes of throwing the line out this morning. About 10 pounds and for most of us on the boat, lunch of steamed rice and seared Tuna was the first real food in the last couple of day. Yummmm.
