Isla Isabelle Continued
17 December 2008 | Mantanchen Bay

Ok, so this was exactly what we had in mind when we decided to go cruising: an empty anchorage in a beautifully scenic island surrounded by crystal clear water. It gets no better than this. Isla Isabella was paradise and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We hiked among frigate and booby nests, snorkeled in warm water with puffer fish, eels and lobster, and enjoyed a "sun downer" with some newly made friends while their son and ours played down below. Love it!! These two awesome days were followed by a great downwind sail to San Blas (actually just south, to Mantanchen Bay), where we sailed into a lush paradise just before sundown today. We plan to spend a few days here before heading further south to Puerto Vallarta. People have warned us of the "no-see-ums" - the tiny black biting flies - that infest this area. Have to go dig up the bug spray and netting .more later!
