New Super Mom on board

Yesterday was both a low point and a turning point of sorts for us. By the end of a long day of drifting in the rain with the sails banging loudly, we had had all we could stand. For the first time, we turned on the radar alarm to alert us if anything got too close, and just went to sleep. Today it seems like a whole new world, and after sleeping for much of the night we are in much better condition. It is really hard to describe the misery that 2 weeks of sleep deprivation produces and how much impact one night's sleep makes.
By mid morning we were sailing on a flat ocean in 10 knots of wind, under a blue sky broken only by fluffy tropical cumulus clouds. This is exactly what it showed in the brochure, the world is bright and sparkly again!
Mary went nuts and really did turn into Martha Stewart. She made bread, started sprouts, made a batch of yogurt, cleaned the boat and was generally super mom.
The breeze is fluky and did not hold, but we had a wonderful day despite and have covered a full 40 miles so far, 2X yesterday.
