Swamp Sailing
We left Barefoot Marina with water under our keel (TYG) around 08:30 am. It was cool most of the day with light breezes and sunshine. We motored past some beautiful homes, golf courses, and scenic areas. A large part of our trip was through the "swamp river" (not its real name but what Ken and Greg called it as they radio'd each other - Ken was looking for people playing banjo's) - Cypress Swamp (real name). It was a long day of motoring toward our destination of Georgetown (South Carolina). We were about an hour away from Georgetown when the sun was getting low and so was the tide, therefore we though it best to anchor where we were on the Waccamaw River. We motored just outside the channel, anchored, and admired a beautiful sunset.
