Gone Sailing / Abigail Grace - Clewiston

Tied off in the canal in Clewiston
The weather forecast for today wasn’t good. Forecasting high winds, rain, and rough seas. We decided to stay put and tied-off. Glad we did because the winds were howling. Normally we like wind, especially since we are in a sailboat. But, if wind conditions are too strong locks and bridges on the ICW won’t open and navigating the sometimes very narrow ICW can be unpleasant. We decided to go to breakfast at the marina cafe, but missed it. Trish, an employee at Roland Martin Marina offered us her car to drive to a local restaurant (still serving breakfast). After getting directions we drove to the restaurant but, they too had stopped serving breakfast - we had lunch. On our way back to the marina we stopped at the supermarket and hardware store. The hardware store had exactly what we needed - a long coated cable and lock (for the dinghy), and hose. They had it all - Yeh! Back at the marina we thanked Trish for her generosity and gave her a few dollars for gas/lunch - she refused - we insisted.
