Bahia Santa Maria and Mag Bay

14 December 2012 | Baja Coast
We left Turtle Bay on Monday, Dec. 3. The sun was out but the wind was blowing and the seas were very choppy. The first night was difficult as we were unable to get much sleep as the seas were so rolly and lumpy. Tues was much better as the seas had calmed down. We arrived in Bahia Santa Maria at 8:30 on the 3 day. What a beautiful bay.. We bought 2 lobsters for $5.00 as the guy needed fuel. Then we traded 6 batteries, M& bubbles. We had lobster salad for dinner. We took the dingy over to Mark and Karen's boat and all went for a short hike on shore.

On Friday, the 7th, we left for Mag Bay. We arrived after a 7 hour day trip. First day trip in a long time. It is beautiful here as well. We fueled up. Took 170 liters of diesel this time. By the time we arrived in Mag Bay, the GPS says we have gone 601 miles. We have 150 miles left before reaching Cabo. We bought shrimp and vegetables. The Captain caught three fish coming down, one of which he threw back. Our freezer is full of Shrimp, Tuna, Bonitos and Lobster Bisque (the Vicki Recipe). We are not going hungry.
