Friends Arriving

05 April 2013 | Caleta Partida
Sunny and warm
The photo shows our friends Vic & Hannah, and their 2 young children on Feliz (Spanish for Happy) arriving from LaPaz and looking for a good place to drop the anchor. They are a 2 boat family. They live on a 44 ft steel sailboat in Berkeley, then vacation to their other boat in La Paz. They are preparing to take off cruising while their children are still young. What a wonderful opportunity for children!
We put the dinghy in the water and went to visit some friends anchored in the north side of the bay. We hadn't seen John & Mitsy, on L'Ange (Beneteau 42) since they left Costa Baja in January. They had been exploring the sea for two months, anchored everynight. They were having problems with their anchor windlass so John and I spent awhile diagnosing the problem. I suspect they have a faulty solenoid.
Another Coromuel that night, from the protected southwest, but Vicki was re-accustomed to a bed that moves all night and slept fine. We received a weather forecast, from the Sonrisa crusers net (single sideband radio) for another Coromuel Wednesday night, but with winds from the west instead of the southwest. Caleta Partida is completely exposed to the west, so we made preparations to leave.

It's a Wonderful Life - On Adesso!
