The adventure continues
12 February 2018 | Vero Beach City Marina, Vero Beach, FL - mooring ball
Feb 10th - At 8:30 AM it is time to leave New Smyrna. Such an easy travel day - lots of people out playing & fishing on the water and at 2:12 PM we are once again at Titusville, Florida. Next to the marina is a carnival and Mardi Gras festival going strong but we opt for seafood so we walk to Dixie Crossroads Restaurant - crabbie bites, Maine lobster, rock shrimp, scallops and all the extras. We are stuffed to the gills - lol and we walk back home. It is wonderful to watch Miss Ally Mann - You go girl!! By the way, the temperature today was in the 80s. Ending my evening catching up with Stephanie Stephan - Love these chats!
Feb 11th- Leave Titusville, Fl at 7:50 AM on this beautiful sunny Sunday. As we pass Cocoa Beach, we are reminded of our favorite dolphin visit we recorded in 2017, the most awesome adventure we have encountered with these beautiful creatures. We plan to anchor but it looks like rain so our Captain reserves a slip at Melbourne Harbor Marina and at 2:20 PM, we are welcomed by a highly qualified Dockmaster and safely assisted to a slip in spite of the strong winds - dinner on the dock at Ichabod's Dockside Restaurant - Love the fish! Another great marina restaurant.
Feb 12th - Hmmmm - today's post is a little different. The day begins as usual as we leave Melbourne Harbor Marina at a little after 8 AM and head to Vero Beach. The weather is warm but it is windy and we arrive at Vero at 2:30 PM for a pump out. Tying to the dock is a not as easy as usual due to the wind and perhaps bad assistance from the dockhand. We opt to use a mooring ball instead of a slip - not a good idea. It is really windy and our assigned mooring ball seems to be in a more vulnerable spot with little wind protection. We are usually pretty good at this but WOW - not today! Vickie on the front of the boat grabbing the ball and Bob at the helm with the wind pushing the boat in different directions and making it difficult to communicate with each other so we can only make hand signals (haha). Serendipity is finally safely tied to a mooring ball (Not a pretty job) and Doug Fender --- Bob is still safe! Very beautiful spot, we make cocktails in an effort to forget the ugly first attempt to get tied to a mooring ball, we are both still on the boat and looking forward to a new day! As Forrest Gump says "And that's all I have to say about that".
