Starting our trek up the Florida coast
04 April 2018 | Palm Coast Marina, Palm Coast, FL
April 1 - Next we Leave Ft. Pierce at 7:14 AM on Easter Sunday and arrive at 2:04 PM at Melbourne Harbor Marina - Awesome dinner at Ichabod's Dockside Restaurant (Bob loved his lamb chop, mashed potatoes and shredded brussel sprouts). It's another one night stay and our contacts back home miss us but they are expecting more snow so they tell us not to hurry. Tomorrow we travel to Titusville for another one night stay. Happy Easter to all our family and friends and we give thanks that Christ is Risen!
April 2 -Today when we leave Melbourne at 8:43 AM, Bob issues radios to the crew (Vickie) and per his instructions- it is mandatory to have it with you at all times. I have been in violation of the new rule at least 3 times today. A few more times and I will be going to the "No go zone" where he can't radio me. We notice a familiar boat and it is Skip & Deb from Lady's Island - small world. We arrive at Titusville Municipal Marina at 2:40 PM - we are right here at Cape Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center) and we find out they are awaiting the launch of SpaceX Falcon 9 (carrying supplies to the International Space Station) at 4:30 PM - another Serendipity moment. A huge Happy Birthday to my grandson, Noah - he would have loved seeing this event. We are able to see the launch from our boat and hear the thunder as it breaks the sound barrier. What a sight!!
April 3 - At 8:39 AM we leave Titusville, FL and it looks like another beautiful day in Florida At 1:38 PM, we are back to one of our favorite places (New Smyrna Beach City Marina) - Lunch at our favorite spot "Corkscrew" - $5 margaritas every day. Tyler was incredible and the food & drinks and surroundings are beyond belief. Our bellies are stuffed and so it is a short walk back to the boat to take a little nap. A trip down Canal St in New Smyrna is a must! The view from our boat includes pelicans, dolphins, fish jumping and incredible sky and water.
April 4 – Well, it is now time to leave New Smyrna again without any plans of returning by boat. This place has been a wonderful spot that we have enjoyed in our travels up and down the east coast but it is time to head farther north. A pleasant travel day and our next stop is Palm Coast Marina and we arrive at approximately 3:00 PM. This is also a Beautiful marina but we are only here for one night so we spend a quiet evening on the boat. Skip & Deb (from Lady's Island) slide in a spot right behind us. Happy Birthday to my beautiful baby girl-Stephanie Kressley! Tomorrow night we plan to be in St. Augustine, FL for a couple days and I am excited. I love the beauty, history and everything this old town has to offer.
