Well, we did it! We are finally back where this whole adventure started on Aug 27, 2015 at our home port at St. Joseph, MI. We have put 1,184 hours on Serendipity and traveled about 5,000 miles in three years (with frequent months at home) and we are still speaking to each other. [...]

Three Days in Grand Haven - This place earns her name!
We spend three days in Grand Haven, MI and we await a weather opening to bring Serendipity to St. Joseph, MI, where this adventure began. We love Grand Haven and are entertained each evening with a phenomenal water light show.

Oneida Lake welcomes Serendipity this time!
7/23/18 -Leave Ilion, NY AT 7:32 AM - 4 Locks today ( Lock 19 & 20 raise the boat, 21 & 22 lower the boat). At 1:45 PM we arrive at Sylvan Beach - just before Oneida Lake. Hope the lake will be kind to us tomorrow.
7/24/18 At 5:30 AM we are both awake and Oneida Lake looks pretty calm and the sky looks good for us to make the crossing so 5:56 AM we start our day. The lake welcomes us this time - all is wonderful. We encountered the most beautiful rainbow that appears to be touching the ground on both sides - WOW! Stopped at Winter Harbor Marina where we fuel up and pump out and continue towards our 2 locks for the day (23 lowers the boat & 24 raises the boat) - the remaining locks now will all raise the boat until we reach Buffalo. Lock 24 is at Baldwinsville, NY - and we love being back here at 11:45 AM in spite of the rain.
7/25/18 Rainy day in Baldwinsville, - lunch at Lock 24 Restaurant. Finish watching the final episodes of "The Middle". We feel like we lost our best friends the Hecks. Actually shed tears.
7/26/18 Leave Baldwinsville, NY at 6:50 AM - beautiful day. 2 locks (lock 25 & lock 26). Water level is higher from rain and we are glad to make it under Bridge E-93 (lowest bridge on the Erie Canal) - even though mast is down we still have vulnerable equipment that extends upward. At 2:00 PM we are at Lyons - free dock with electricity.
