Refitting in St. Maarten

We had a wonderful sail from Tortolla (BVI) to the Island of St. Maarten. Henna, our dog did great! She has been with us now for a month and is getting used to the cruising life. She found her favorite spot on top of the companionway hatch, there she can keep an eye on the jumping fish! We are anchored in Simpson Bay and are taking advantage of the yachting facilities. Today we had new lifelines made and next week the mast is coming out for repairs, fun, fun. but it needs to happen. So, in the morning fresh croissants, baguette, pate, and smoked eel, oh ja the nice smelly french cheese! mmmm. It is almost like being home! lekker!
Our resort-pool hopping skills are being put to the test here, so many pools and no people! I guess everybody is heading South for the hurricane season coming up soon! We should be ready to go in a couple of weeks.
Jana and lisa have been working hard on their homeschooling and it looks as if they are staying on track with their boat chores (doing the dishes, polishing stainless and walking Henna!) We are looking foward to sailing South with our fine tuned rig soon. meanwhile we are keeping in touch with the Dutch on this lovely island!
