Flight of Aghavni

a Topjian family traveling journey

Haafeva

Last stop in Tonga for us is the remote island of Haafeva located in the southern Haapai island group.

We arrived on a national holiday so did not have a chance to visit the local school but a quick hike through the wooded island and we meet many friendly locals in their homes.

We met this family and friendly mom, Nofolata Taufaa, and spent some time with them. It was humbling to see how happy they live with so little.

It was a blessing for us as we had been looking for a family to make some donations of extra items off our boat. They gladly welcomed our TV, DVD player, kids clothes, and extra parts of our medical kit. It felt so right and there were smiles all around!

The trade winds have been strong this week so this island has the perfect protected anchorage as we plan our next leg and departure from Tonga.
