Having scheduled the work with marina yard and contractors, we booked a local BNB to ensure a more comfortable time while making boat repairs.

Living on a boat at sea is difficult, but living on one when on land is miserable. No toilets, water usage, and climbing a ladder 100 times a day. Dust, paint, chemicals from marina neighbors, and floorboards, tools, gear all over the boat. Not fun.

So, we had booked in advance a local accommodation about 20 minutes from the marina. Owned by a lovely young couple, who drop me off at the marina on their way to work, then pick me up on the way home.

This way, we keep the boat work rolling, while Mamabear and kids enjoy the amazing beauty of NZ. I'd say that is a win/win!
