Social Victory

We can't stress how fortunate we are to be here in NZ during Covid. It's been a challenging time but the country has come out ahead after the strict 7 week lockdown, having pulled together to win the battle.

We are blessed to enjoy normal first world freedoms again and are back to "normal" social interactions other than having closed international borders.

The country celebrated with a packed stadium for the Super Rugby match between Auckland Blues and Wellington Hurricanes.

Perhaps the local news website summarizes the Kiwi Spirit in a good perspective: "So much of New Zealand’s success to date has relied on trust: the public’s trust that ministers would not abuse the extraordinary powers they granted themselves, and the trust that we would all follow the rules without the need for soldiers to line the streets."

And with the work put in by a nation of 5 million, we were blessed this weekend to enjoy a weekend on the water full of fun in the sun. Sending love and prayers from across the Pacific...
