Maximum Power
4.2KW of power on the single wire fence which keeps the cows safely in their paddocks. This morning, the voltage had dropped a bit, so we traced the fault to a few loose connections, causing the wire to ground in the water and along barbed wire fencing.
Time to stop and think a minute as I put a plan together to delicately try to make repairs without turning off the power. The power source is about a mile away and the fence is the only thing keeping the cattle off the road and off many open hectares of kale. If they breakout, they will overeat to the point of causing sickness and possible death. And if that happens, it will take an act of Parliament to herd them back to the dry grass paddocks.
Well, good news to report that it was a successful series of repairs with no major excitement. Alls well that ends well!
