Each island in Galapagos has its own species of tortugas (tortoises). They are amazing. Unfortunately, there are very few remaining in the wild and now ranches are set up to breed and protect these amazing reptiles.

Most problems are from poaching and non-native species eating the eggs (rats/wild cats/etc).

We are visiting many of the ranches and trying on some shells for size in this photo--Turtle Power!
