On Saturday Evening reinforcement arrived in the form of 'the nannus'. Their arrival was a dramatic one, a violent storm raged around them as they tumbled out of the taxi and waded through the flooded yacht yard towards Aigle D'Or. After giving them some time to get oriented and dried off, we went for a typical dish of fresh lamb, slow roasted under a steel dome in an outdoor log fire. The lamb is served with the most divine roast potatoes which are also filled with the succulent flavour (and fat) of the lamb itself.
You can smell the lamb roasting every afternoon together with the warm aroma of the actual wood burning and all beautifully infused with wafts of fresh herbs and salty sea air. Being in Croatia in the wettest summer ever on record, we could also throw in a few scents of summer rain.
