Alacrity - Our English word derives from the Latin word alacer, which means "lively." It denotes physical quickness coupled with eagerness or enthusiasm

22 August 2018 | Falmouth to Richmond Island, ME
We originally planned to stay a couple nights here because the forecast called for bad weather. The marina owner’s daughter’s wedding reception was happening at the marina in the afternoon, so the restaurant and most other things were shut down. Most of the storms passed through overnight, there were glimpses of sun through the clouds so we decided to head out after laundry was done.
We made one pass by our old boat to see if owners were there, no luck so we left a note and we were off. We weaved back through some different islands in Casco Bay with just 6 knots of wind and headed out to Richmond Island. We didn’t want to duplicate stops, but Richmond remains a favorite for us. The bad weather came back shortly after we anchored, so we hunkered down and it passed through the night.
