28 August 2018 | Long Island (Boston Harbor Islands) to Boston
A bright sunny day with some early morning haze. It was cool out in the islands of Boston Harbor, but we knew it would be hotter when we got into the dock in Charlestown. We spent some time in the morning readying the boat for visitors.
Our anchor chain jammed pretty good in the winch coming up. Dismantling the top around the guard made it easy to clear and we were off on our short trip into Constitution marina. The harbor was busy with ferries of all sizes, some for commuters, some for Island visitors, another for trips to Provincetown and some whale watching boats. The marina was busy and big, we tied up parallel to the bridge headed into the “North End” of Boston, fortunately, there was a slight breeze to keep the heat at bay.
We had time for provisions, hair cuts and showers before the kids arrived. It’s always great to see everyone, Kailey and Brooke were very excited to spend the night on the boat.
