Pancakes on the boat were another hit today. Breakfast was followed by a walk around the waterfront to see the USS Consitution. The harbor walk, which is also part of the Freedom Trail, brought us by the spot where Paul Revere rowed ashore to begin his ride warning of the British arrival.
We sailed out to Lovell Island for the day, which gave everyone a chance to see Boston from the water, and to play on the beach. Travis and Kailey had a good time in the water, Brooke was happy with shells and stones on the beach. The early trip out of the harbor was pretty calm compared to the day earlier and the trip back in the afternoon. The nice day brought many out on the water to enjoy the day. The marina put us in an outer finger slip on return, so we had a decent breeze and good view across the Charles River to Boston. Boston’s North End has their “Italian Festival” this weekend, so we went over to see what it was all about. The streets were beyond jam packed with people, vendors and restaurant seating that made it’s way into the street. We decided dinner in an air conditioned spot would be much more comfortable, so we headed back to Charlestown for dinner and returned to the boat to enjoy the view of the harbor and the city.
