Island Tour
07 October 2012 | Grenada
Carol/sunny and gorgeous
(St. Georges)
We've been working so hard on projects on Alaunt, we decided to take a day off, play tourist and go on an island tour with Cutty, one of the local taxi drivers. We were joined by an international group of five (besides Ron and myself), all sailors, from England and South Africa. Our first stop was on top of a hill that offered a gorgeous view of St. Georges. We then drove up to Fort Matthew and Fort Frederik and also had a view of the prison. Our tour included the Annandale Falls, Grand Etang Forest Preserve, Carlton Cocoa Bean Processing Plant, lunch in a local restaurant in Grenville (the second largest city in Grenada), the River Antoine Rum Distillery, Pearl's Airport and a stop at Cutty's "Limin" bar before returning to Alaunt in Mount Hartman Bay. What a day! We started out at 8:30 am and wandered back to Alaunt around 6:00 pm. It was definitely worth the $25 US each and we would recommend this island tour to anyone coming to Grenada. The following seven entries to the blog are from our tour.
