Time is running out for me

It's amazing. I thought that 7 weeks was going to seem like forever and in some ways it has, but now that I only have one more week on the boat with Wayne before I return to work, it seems like it was an incredibly short period of time. This has been an amazing adventure and I'm sorry that I have to leave.
We left Annapolis yesterday after 4 beautiful days (well, one not so great day). We missed the sailboat show, but we figured that some of the gear would be the same at the powerboat show, so we went to that - yes, WE went to a powerboat show. We actually got on a few trawlers. With the amount of motoring we have done on this trip, we have talked about when to take the next step and move to a trawler. We figured that the boat show would be an ideal place to start doing some research. We're not going to go over to the dark side yet, but since we like to plan ahead, this worked. We were also able to reconnect with some friends that we met in Atlantic Highlands when we were holed up there for 8 days.
Yesterday we went to Herring Bay (Tracey's Landing, MD) for the night. We figured it would be a good stopover to do laundry, get the boat cleaned up for company arriving, etc. Today we are in the Solomon's. It is an absolutely gorgeous area on the Pautxent River and we didn't want to miss it. The Chesapeake is a beautiful bay to be explored. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore it. Some day though.
Our friends Derek and Sue from Cobourg will be driving down to meet up with us on Wednesday (October 20th) in Kinsale, Virginia. We'll sail for a couple of days together and then Sue and I will head back home and Derek and Wayne will continue the voyage south. Lucky guys. Like I said at the beginning, I'm sorry that I have to leave to go back to work. Not that I don't enjoy my job, I really do, but when you get the cruising "bug", it is really, really hard to shake. I'll be back once Wayne gets the boat to Florida though. At least I have that to look forward to.
In the mean time though, we cruise on. Enjoy
