Linda / Cloudy, Warm
We left City Island at 6:30am. Long Island Sound was beautiful with homes along the shore. We made it in good time, arriving at the ‘Brewer Stratford Marina’ fuel dock at 12:30pm. After topping off the diesel and pumpout, we tied up to a T-head and headed to the laundry. While I was toiling away Jim went into Bridgeport for a blood test. The very friendly dock master, Kaitlin, personally drove him in the courtesy vehicle. This marina was super service oriented. We joined the ‘frequent customer club’ where we will be eligible for a discount at other Brewer marinas for the rest of the year. What a deal!
After laundry was done, we headed over to the Outrigger restaurant where we enjoyed salmon and a glass of wine on the outdoor patio. It was a good way to end the day. The deck faced the marina and a beautiful marsh across the river. A pretty setting.
Tuesday we relaxed in the cockpit until early afternoon. We decided to walk into town to find a recommended hamburger restaurant but after walking for what seemed forever, we decided to return to the Outrigger for a cheeseburger. A glass of Shiraz on the boat and all is good.
Wednesday we woke early, got a rental car, and headed for Cherry Hill for a doctor appointment and provisioning. Heading back at 7:30, we had expected to arrive around ten, but got stuck in traffic in the Bronx for an hour. It was a long day.
