Maine

Linda / Partly cloudy, Calm
We left Portsmouth at 7:45, easily getting out of the marina after avoiding several fishing boats. We noticed a beautiful wood sailboat grounded and leaning over on the side of the channel. It was low tide and that moored sailboat was stuck in the mud. There were more and more fish traps to avoid as we skirted the coast of Maine!
We arrived at 4 pm, got fuel at the DeMillio Marina and were helped into a tiny slip. Jim narrowly avoided the neighboring boats as we slid into the slip. It was a nice location though, up front and near the gate. We met quite a few people who stopped and said hello.
Portland is another old port town with the area near the wharfs restored and lined with many restaurants and shops. There is a large marine supply store, Hamilton Marine, which we visited. Pubs serve great sandwiches and homemade chips. One was called Gritty's. The chips were great!
