Mustique - Privately Owned Island in the Grenadines

December 30

We left Tobago Cays by 9:30am. Cloudy. Fast sail and some squall on the say to Mustique. Clark did most of the sailing. Arrived Mustique by 2:30pm. Met Harbormaster Bernard who helped with mooring ball - $85USD for 1-3 days of stay (same price regardless of number of days but 3 max). Went to shore and stopped at the boutiques and grocery store (bought some supplies) and the produce stand. Back to boat. All snorkeled/swam then had dinner at Basil's at 7pm. Lucky to get a table as reservations were highly recommended. Nice spot for dinner. Back to boat by 9pm. Played games/read then to bed.

We all went to shore and did more grocery shopping and bought some Mustique gear. LOTS of mega yachts - some even had their own helicopters! - and more arriving probably to spend New Years Eve here.

Bottom line, this place is NICE! It reminded us of Bitter End Yacht Club where you can charge your purchases to your room. Celebrities like Mick Jagger and Shania Twain have homes here. Very different from the other islands we've been to where there's so much poverty. It's definitely worth a stop, however.
