3. Regalvanising the anchor & chain

Let's get galvanised...
We're ten miles up the St. John's River just above Jacksonville at the Ortega YC marina, close to the Jacksonville Galvanizing Plant.
Our anchor chain, well-used after countless anchorages was still OK but very rusty. We discovered that we could re-galvanize both anchor and chain for half the replacement cost of the chain alone.
Paul Howe, the Club's ever-helpful dock-master, kindly offered his truck and so 25 fathoms of rusty chain and one equally rusty 65 lb. CQR anchor was duly delivered to the Plant and two days later his truck collected the shiny-bright finished job.
