6. Chubb Cay, Bahamas

Anchored off Berry Islands Club Marina
We left Bimini yesterday morning and arrived here around 10pm after a lovely sail of about 70 miles across the Great Bahama Bank to the North-West passage past North Rock.
The rock is a dangerous obstruction in the middle of a narrow channel between coral reefs. The full moon enabled us to see it clearly out to starboard and when it was safely astern, we relaxed over coffee and Tony & William opened a bottle of Malt.
After a couple of days exploring the Cay and an unsuccesful attempt to catch a fish in 'Tuna Alley' where the reef drops away to huge depths, we are now moored off the Berry Island Club, thinking of moving over to Nassau.
