Stella Maris Marina
The narrow channel into the tiny Stella Maris Marina meanders across four miles of flat sand-bank. We just managed to get through at high water - creeping in and often touching sandy bottom.

The nearby resort has stunning views over the Ocean. Efficiently run by a German company, it is a friendly hotel, bar and restaurant with winding paths leading down to beach-front bungalows, beach bar and natural swimming pool cut into the rocks and filled by the incoming Atlantic rollers.

We've now been here a month and have said goodbye to Brenda. She's been great company aboard and we were sorry to see her fly away on the Pineapple Air flight to Nassau.

Stella Maris is well off the beaten track but several cruising boats have arrived and departed. One day 'Foxy Lady' arrived - Stephen & Barbara Connett spend eight months of the year cruising the out-islands tagging turtles for 'Sea Turtle Research' at Florida University. They had an injured Green Turtle aboard and we went aboard to help. Barbara has some great turtle stories!

We are now expecting the arrival of our next guests, Bill & Gill Russell on their third trip on Alexia and we are planning to explore the out-islands with them: San Salvador, Rum & Conception.
