Back in the Water
Back in the water again!

After six weeks in the shipyard, we are about to depart and sail north for Chesapeake Bay.

No major issues, but following six months in the Bahamas, we had a long 'Snag List' and all the routine maintenance items: repainting the bottom, replacing anodes, draining/cleaning diesel and water tanks, sanitizing water pipes, dismantling toilets, removing sails, checking standing rigging, servicing engine and generator, varnishing, deck caulking .....

We have installed more 12-volt LEDs, including a bright new anchor light, red strips in the navigation area and similar white LED strips above the galley. The cockpit now has a new Raymarine ST70 display providing Bearing-to-waypoint, Distance-to-waypoint and Cross-track error information that previously was available only down below.

During this work, Tony & Gill Perry invited us to stay with them at their house on Wilmington Island. They are kind and generous hosts and we have enjoyed many evenings with them, dining at home and out with them at Savannah restaurants. They are trying to boost our cultural experiences in Savannah and we went to a revival of the musical "Hair", by the students of the Savannah College and to a concert by the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra.

We will be sad to leave Savannah, but Alexia wants to get underway, so it's time to sail!
