Time to move on
21 May 2012
Savannah, Georgia
We been at Hinckley Marina now for 23 days and works on Alexia have gone well. This yard has handled all our boat jobs for the past five years - a first class yard with a super team of guys who all know what they're doing when it comes to servicing, repairs or new installations.
We haven't had much to do this time around - a few electronic updates, installation of a new faucet in the galley, and some cosmetic touch ups. We are pleased Alexia is in good form. We try to keep on top of things on a daily basis with a well honed check list which is a must.
So, goodbye Savannah until next season! We loose our lines and set off at 4.00pm for the short sail north to our destination anchorage on the Wright River arriving at 6.30 pm. The intersection from waterway into the Wright River was dredged in 2011 and depths are good. Turning in we head on up about 400 yards from the main waterway to avoid being rocked by the wakes of passing boats and set the anchor in about 15ft.
The hum of horseflies is all around and a flight of swallows, ducking and diving are having themselves a good supper - the view however is superb and we eat supper in the cockpit. We swat - but the supply is endless. Another gorgeous sunset rounds off the day.
