Savannah to Calibogue Sound GA

28 April 2013 | It's Pizza Night !
Savannah GA to Broad Creek @ Calibogue Sound - 18 miles
OMG! Time flies. We must leave today. It's a glue pot but we also love being here. It's been a 'base' for us since 2007 when our new Volvo engine was installed and we have a really good relationship with the team that work at the Yard.

Plus we have made friends in the area and always spend time with Tony & Gill Perry who live on Whitemarsh Island. A super couple who make us feel very special and very welcome at their house as long as we don't upset Min the Cat or Max the Dog - we try our best.

Also, our friend Joe from Canada, a single handed sailor who is getting his boat ready to sail to England - we always ask him When? - he always replies '3 months from now' - a conversation which has been taking place now for six years!!

Before leaving William makes a quick trip to the Piggly Wiggly supermarket for final supplies including some gluten free, ambient storage pizza bases. They are so huge the only place to put them is on coat hangers in the wardrobe!

Finally, we are off and take a slow sail toward our evening anchorage at Broad Creek off Calibogue Sound GA, about 20 miles away, arriving at 5.30pm.
