Sealife day
16 June 2018
After the wind picked up overnight we made excellent progress initially motor sailing and later under sail alone at well over 6 knots much of the time. The boat was in her sweet spot and weâre all feeling pretty chipper as our âAre we nearly there yet?â questions can be answered positively. ETA Horta is early Sunday morning. We expect to see the first navigational lights ashore during tonight.
Sighted today were dolphins 3 times, lots of very small Portuguese Man of War, several turtles but no whales.
No wind right now but all being well we will have a good wind for the last 20 miles and aim to cross the line proudly flying our rally flag and under spinnaker.
