Good-bye Eric & Lynda

12 March 2017 | San Blas Islands
Mark
This morning @ 8:30, Eric & Lynda will depart for the next part of their adventure - a 4x4 trip over the isthmus of Panama to Panama City - through the rain forest and over the continental divide. It should be very interesting. If I can, I will post some of their comments. Yesterday we all snorkeled and then washed up at Los Grullos before sailing to Nonomulu. Bathing in the ocean was actually fun and very cleansing so al long as you finish with a fresh water rinse at the boat, it is not really a hardship. The sail was a delightful broad reach due West for an hour and a half @ 5-6 kts. The we dropped the main and gennie sailed due Soouth to the island. By the time we anchored, it was obvious that we were only a few hundred yards from Carti - where they were to meet Tito for the ride. We had arranged for Tito to send a launcha to pick them up, but that was clearly not necessary. It will be a 5 minute dinghy ride at most. Eric & I went ashore to see if we could finalize their plans. We found Tito without difficulty, confirmed their reservations, canceled the launcha and learned that the restaurant opened @ 7:00 so they could get breakfast if they wanted. It has been great having them on the boat and showing them new things. I am sure it is not a lifestyle they would choose full time (not sure we would either), but I hope it has been enjoyable and well as enlightening.
