From one Extreme to the Other!

17 August 2007 | Traverse City, MI/ Bahia del Sol, El Salvador
Amy
Another showing! YES! But this time instead of being one of the coolest days of the summer, it's probably the Hottest day of the year! Wednesday, August 1st, we have someone coming at 7:30 p.m.-What is actually quite amazing and very coincidental, is that Jim was already going to take Wed. off for us to go to the beach- it was forecasted to be in the mid to upper 90's around here. A lot like El Salvador! On Tuesday we got "the call"! Another realtor has someone who wants to see our house the next day- well, there goes the beach idea, but yaknowwhat? It will be worth it skipping that one beach day for dozens more while it's cold and snowy and blustery here at home! Also, the date, first day of August, couldn't be better timing for us to be able to get a deal made and have a closing and be out of here by mid-September or so! Thankfully, the lawn had already been mowed a couple days before! So we got the house presentable, Jim worked in the morning putting the last few pieces of siding up, (we put tyvek on last year) then the rest of the day in his workshop in the basement- where it's cooler, and then loaded up his truck with more stuff to store or give away, and the van with goodies for Goodwill. But oh, with it being so HOT, this time instead of dripping wet from rain, we were dripping in sweat! Since we had to leave for the showing anyway, we still went down to Lake Michigan for about an hour and cooled and rinsed off- oh was that refreshing!
Santos continues to work on the deck. The main area is painted from the wheelhouse forward. He also sent us pix of the wheel, he sanded it down and refinished it, it looks beautiful! He even sent pix of some carvings he came across while sanding some of the woodwork. Some of the craftsmanship from the original owner is starting to shine through under layers of grime and dust.
He told us shortly after we left there at the end of May that when we come back this fall, we won't recognize Sunshine, she'll be so clean and shiny, I'm beginning to believe him!
