Amy- a beautiful fall here, "sunshine" is there!!!
This is the post I know WE"VE been waiting to write, and some of you have been waiting to read!!! Yes, we are FINALLY set to go!!! Our last day in our house will be Nov. 20th, just a few short days away!!! We have renters for our house, and it's quite amazing how this all came about.
On Friday, the 9th, we finally decided it was time to make our flight reservations. Actually Jim did it without me knowing, we were suppose to make a definite decision that night- together, but while I was in town grocery shopping and other errands, as I got home, he met me at the back of the van to help unload bags and said, "I booked our tickets." I just stared at him for about 10-15 seconds! Trying to figure out if he was serious! Then about 2 hours later, the phone rang, it was our realtor, who had a lead for a family to rent our house and gave us their name and number and said that he had talked to them via phone, and told them about our house being available and it really sounded like this would be a great house for them, both for their size of family, a 10 year old son, 17 mos. old son and a girl on the way. Plus the dad works only about 10 minutes from here.... there just was so many little things that seemed to fit. Our realtor gave them our name and number but told us that if we didn't hear from them that evening to call them the next morning. And that's how it happened, we called them Saturday morning around 10, and they were interested in coming and take a look at the house, we agreed on around 1:00. Then shortly after getting off the phone with her, the phone rang again and it was someone else calling regarding the ad in the paper! They came at 3:30! Talk about an adrenalin rush! Both families seemed to really like the house and said they'd think about it and get back to us. The family from the lead through our realtor got back to us first and said they'd like to rent it. We meet with them on Saturday to go over the lease, etc. As long as their references and credit report check out good, we'll be all set. They seem like a real nice family and hope the house serves them well.
Anyway, our flight leaves at 6 a.m. and we arrive in San Salvador around 12:15 local, 1:15 MI time, with a connecting flight in Houston. Then we'll have about an hour drive to Sunshine's location in Bahia del Sol. I am so excited to see the kids reaction through all this, the airplane rides, the drive seeing El Salvador for the first time, and of course the first look at OUR BOAT, our NEW HOME!
We will definitely post sometime that day, letting everyone know we've arrived safely. And plans are while we are there for about a month or so, to post at least 2/3 x/wk. And once we're under way, posting nearly every day, as long as there's internet access available. So stay tuned, the journey's just begun!
