Boat Work

20 January 2008 | Bahia del Sol, El Salvador
Amy & Jim / Upper 80's, clear blue skies
Little do I know! Plans changed after I left Sunshine and went to the pool the day we beached her. We did not stay on the sandbar for a second day. But will most likely need to return one more time before we leave here. Before we can do what needs done next on the sandbar, we need to buy some more anti-fouling, and some other tools to do some minor touch ups to the bottom of the boat. So we are now anchored closer to the hotel, and basically next door neighbors to our good friends on the "Bonnie Lassie". Bridget and Sarah were ecstatic to be so close!- Like they weren't getting enough of each other before!
There's been some other work done as well. Friday Jim went up the mast, (shhh, don't tell his mom), to install a block and halyard. It's the third time he's gone up since we've been here, makes my heart race everytime. Because the boat wasn't being used during the sale, the halyards were removed to get them out of the weather. So he climbed the mast steps up the entire 50' to install this so he can work from a boson's chair. Now he can sit in the chair while he does more work such as installing the VHF antennae, doing maintenance on the sheaves, and installing other halyards.
Oh yeah, the picture I said I'd post of Sunshine on the hard. Sorry, have to wait until next time. I only took video that day, but will definitely take still shots next time and post one.
