Many Sea Life All Around

01 April 2008 | Corinto, Nicaragua; 12 02.948 N, 86 42.548 W
Pulled up anchor earlier today. Needed to tighten the fan belt on the engine, so that took a few more minutes too. I guess it was around 6:30- that's what Dad and Jim said, I thought it was more around 7:15. Early on we saw flying fish and whatever it was that was trying to get them..And around 8:45 we had a whole school of dolphins join us. Maybe 30, or more, 40? They stayed with us for nearly 45 minutes, as we were going past Corinto. It was absolutely so cool! Then they left. Then the kids saw another area of jelly fish and other sea life. Later we saw a couple large turtles. This next anchorage we were heading to, suggested by the on line cruising guide, was nothing more than basically like pulling along side the road, it was not protected, and between us and the shore were HUGE rocks and breakers. Our first attempt here made us uncomfortably close to these rocks, so we pulled up and went farther out, it was difficult finding shallow enough depth, but not too close to those darn rocks! I couldn't believe this was even suggested to anchor here! Since the winds were still not nice to us, and almost always out of the wrong direction- right on the nose, we did some solo sailing & tacking and got great speed, but then to come back in we hardly made any headway, and again decided to just motor/ motor sail. It stunk using so much fuel, both literally and figuratively.
