Skiing, Syrup & Sailing

Amy- cloudy 30's here
Above is a photo of my snow family on Feb. 8th. Jen, Micah, Bridget & Jim have all been skiing at Crystal Mountain near Thompsonville. Jen would finish her 2 hour lesson, come in to the lodge w/ me where I'm cozy & warm working my business on the computer, or reading or whatever I want! Then Jen would eat her lunch & play or color while the rest continued to ski. Everyone is doing well in school. Micah has 10 spelling words each week and almost always gets them all right on his test. Bridget has lots of projects for her different classes, has been to a couple dances at school, and Jen continues to improve her reading and math.
Now on to the most exciting news! Jim has a plane ticket back to Panama on the 27th of this month to get the boat ready to go through the canal & then beat feat, or hulls, I guess in this case, to Florida. We will then have Sunshine hauled out at Bob & Annie's boatyard near Fort Myers & get the major work done on the bottom there. He will be gone about 3 weeks, I am trying to figure out a way to go down for a week- 10 days, but don't have it all figured out yet. WHEN I do go, I will have Micah & Bridget get their school work to do here, instead of relying on someone to drive them back & forth every day. The rest of the details, getting Sunshine here this Summer have yet to be determined, that's our goal, but at this point just need to take it one step at a time.
The kids are having fun helping Oma & Opa with the long standing family tradition of making Maple Syrup. I'll post that photo below.
At this point, with snow still a bit on the ground, I check the vacant land listings once/month looking for property to build our house this Summer. Now that it's getting close to Spring, I'm sure more properties will start showing up for sale, so we will have more options.
I am so glad Spring is near. Someone pointed out to me that the first blog I did in the Fall about Jenaya playing outside in our first "big" snow of the season, turned in to one of the Biggest Winters of snowfall in several years! Who would of known when I wrote that, that this was going to be such a long, cold winter! Many people asked us, "why aren't you gone this year?: BELIEVE US, we would of if we could of!
