Leaving Phoenix we had two days to get to San Antonio so we decided to stick to the smaller back roads and by-pass highway 10 until the very end. We wandered along hwy 60 through Arizona and came across the Salt River Canyon. A mini Grand Canyon. Gotta say it was hot but throughout the day the rod climbed until we maxed out at about 7700 feet in elevation. It was surprisingly chilly and there were certainly no blooming things.
