So I eluded to a mini-trip in our future. Well the future is here and we are docked at the National Harbor Marina in the Maryland/DC area. We left Yorktown on Friday and traveled up the Potomac for the first time. Along the way we stopped in Stafford, VA to visit with our friends Joe & Natalie and their little girl, Rebecca. We had a wonderful afternoon in their company. It was great to see them!

All I have to say about the Potomac is that it is absolutely gorgeous. Big stately homes line the high shorelines making such a delightful presence. We really enjoyed the views.

So why are we here? Check out this site: Food & Wine Festival Pretty cool, huh? Now, we are not patrons but helpers with the show. It should be a great time none the less! We have been given a slip at the marina for a few days so we can explore the area and live the life of luxury amongst all of the big big power boats! We are good at hob-nobbing!

So this is where we are and what we are doing this week. After this, we will make our way back South and prepare for a Summer full of Anastasia pampering. She is SO excited about the spa/marina where she will be buffed and shined, waxed and varnished! The to-do lists began months ago.

Maxwell is gearing up for a crewing job that leaves July 1st from Deltaville bound for Nova Scotia. How exciting! After about 7 days offshore I will meet him in Halifax for a few days of exploration.

With what we have planned so far this summer, where we are right now is about as far North as we will get this season. But Maine is not going anywhere! We will get there eventually and I am so excited about what is in between!
